My name is Debbie Leitch and I am a fully-qualified piano, violin and theory teacher. I also teach keyboard and offer my services as a Piano accompanist in Worthing. My 25 years of experience as a teacher has allowed me to pass on the pleasure and enjoyment of playing an musical instrument.
Quite simply I love music and I derive an enormous amount of pleasure from it. I teach to make music fun and will take students through exams should they choose to do them.
I have so much fun playing the piano and I do everything I can to ensure that you have fun in my lessons too. What can you expect to learn in every piano lesson? Well, that’s up to you.
Learning to play the violin can be very challenging, especially if you don’t play any other instruments. For this reason, it can take some time for students to be able to carry a recognisable tune on the violin.
Music theory is basically our understanding of the ‘building blocks’ upon which music is created, with notes, chords and keys being the most important of those building blocks. Music theory gives you an understanding...
I teach all basic styles of playing, from rock to pop and from jazz and classical. Of course, there are many examples of piano pieces within all of these genres but the violin also has a place within each of those different styles too.
I provide one-to-one piano, violin, keyboard and theory tuition at all levels, from beginner to professional. No matter what your taste in music, age or your level of ability may be, I can devise a lesson especially for you.
As an experienced violin and piano teacher in Worthing, I have an extensive music collection and repertoire. If you aren’t quite sure what style you want to learn, I’m sure we will be able to find something in my collection that gets your creative juices flowing.
If, on the other hand, you have reached a certain level of ability on an instrument and feel you are no longer progressing, please contact me! I would love to help you find new ways to ‘spice up’ your playing. I can do this by teaching you new techniques and styles or by providing lessons in music theory up to advanced level.
Music theory is basically our understanding of the ‘building blocks’ upon which music is created, with notes, chords and keys being the most important of those building blocks. Music theory gives you an understanding of the reasons why music sounds ‘good’ to you. It also gives you a head start in learning how to write and perform ‘good’ music yourself. It can really open doors to the way you approach music in general.
Being an piano accompanist, I can work with singers, choirs, instrumentalists, and bands. I also help students prepare for exams, recitals, auditions and live shows. If you are looking for a professional pianist in the Worthing area to accompany you in any capacity, please look no further!
If you would like more information about any of my services, the best thing to do is arrange your first free lesson.
